Galleries & Exhibits

The Gordon Library has several spaces for curated exhibits and displaying artwork. The Scott Room Gallery, on the 3rd floor, hosts two to three exhibits each year. This gallery showcases the work of the WPI community, local artists, and national traveling exhibitions. A smaller gallery space in the Class of 1970 Café, on the 2nd floor of the library, showcases the work of WPI students, faculty, staff and alumni. The Gladwin Gallery, located on the ground floor adjacent to WPI Archives & Special Collections, focuses on curated exhibits highlighting WPI history or objects from our collections.

Fifty Years of Gordon Library:  Building our Library, Inspiring our Community

How do we define a library? Is it a building with walls, windows, and a roof? Is it the miles of shelving filled with books? Is it the information held within the covers of those books, in the bits of electronic resources, and in the minds of the librarians who make it available to researchers? This exhibit explores the historical people, places, and resources that make WPI’s Gordon Library what it is today and will shape its future. Curated by Kathleen A. Markees.
