Worcester Regional Science & Engineering Fair at WPI

More Than 140 Projects Featured From 16 Central Mass. High Schools

What: The region's brightest young minds will be converging on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute campus early next month for the 49th Annual Worcester Regional Science and Engineering Fair.

The event will feature more than 140 experiment-based projects developed by students at 16 high schools around central Massachusetts. The students will be competing for several thousand dollars in awards and prizes. The projects will be judged by nearly 100 local scientists, engineers and medical professionals who volunteer their time for the event.

The WRSEF is one of six regional fairs held throughout Massachusetts that culminate in an annual State Fair held in May.

Who: The fair is organized by the nonprofit group The Worcester Regional Science and Engineering Fair, Inc. In addition, it is sponsored by WPI, the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science, and other local colleges, clubs, corporations and professional organizations.

When: Friday, March 5, 2004, 1:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
