Class of 2021 Commencement Details

DEPARTMENT(S):
March 30, 2021

Dear Class of 2021,

We are delighted to provide you with more specific information about your upcoming Commencement. Thank you for your patience as we worked to create the most meaningful experience possible for you and your families while still maintaining the health and safety of our campus community.

Working within the state’s capacity guidelines and projections—and with the advice of WPI’s Coronavirus Emergency Response Team—we have created a festive and celebratory way to acknowledge this important milestone. Instead of a large-scale ceremony, we have scheduled several smaller, more personal events, assembled by degree programs, departments, and schools. This will allow us to accommodate two guests per student while following the required social distancing and capacity guidelines.

All Commencement activities will be held the week of May 19–22, 2021, and will be livestreamed, as follows:

Planning is currently underway for the ROTC Commissioning Ceremony. We will communicate those details as soon as they are finalized.

For those students unable to attend in person, a full virtual ceremony will be broadcast Saturday, May 22, at 10:00 am. Additional details will be provided in the coming weeks.

 All graduating students need to do the following:

  • Review the schedule above and RSVP for your specific ceremony by April 12, 2021, using this simple form to let us know if you plan to attend. Please note this is a new form.
  • Order your regalia here if you plan to attend the ceremony. Orders are due by Friday, April 9.
  • Watch for ticketing information in the coming weeks. Given state guidelines, we can accommodate two guests per student.

Please note: All students and guests attending Commencement in person will be required to provide an attestation form regarding COVID-19 symptoms. While we are eager to celebrate, we also must maintain a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff throughout the spring and summer.

You likely have additional questions, and we ask for your continued patience as we work to finalize the details and create a beautiful event for you in what is still a challenging and uncertain time. Please watch for additional communications and continue to check the WPI Commencement pages for information.

We hope to see you at your Commencement ceremony in May and watch you walk across Earle Bridge.
