Employee Access to Campus Buildings July 24-28, 2020

Note: This is dated information and may not reflect the current policies in place on campus. Please refer to We Are WPI for the latest information.

July 23, 2020

Dear Colleagues:

As you may be aware from President Leshin’s message on July 17, although our campus is starting to repopulate, several departments and offices will not be returning to campus for at least several more weeks, and in the case of the newly added Pathway 4 not until the beginning of B-Term (October 21). Given this extended period of remote work, we understand many employees may need access to their desks and offices to retrieve and replenish work supplies. To accommodate that, we have created a temporary and accelerated process for employees to access their offices. WPI's campus buildings will be open WITH CARD ACCESS from Friday, July 24, through Tuesday, July 28, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM for all employees to access their work space to remove needed items (e.g., class preparation materials, files, supplies, etc.).

Please note that anyone wishing to take advantage of this opportunity is required to complete this form so that access can be provided and Facilities personnel can provide appropriate cleaning afterward.

Once approved, please remember that WPI is requiring all persons visiting campus to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Please be mindful of others that may be visiting your building at the same time. Should it be necessary to maintain distancing, please allow others to exit the space before you enter. Finally, if any of the following apply to you, please do not come to campus at this time:

  • You are ill or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • You have been exposed to a COVID-19 individual in the past 14 days.
  • You have left New England, New York, or New Jersey in the last 14 days.

Once employees in Pathway 2 return to campus on July 29, 2020, we will revert to our current process where access exemption requests are processed on a case-by-case basis.

If you have any questions or concerns about accessing your workspace, please contact your supervisor.

Thank you for helping keep our campus safe. We hope this provides you with an opportunity to secure everything you need to continue working remotely.
