February 12 COVID Dashboard Update

The Broad Institute, a Cambridge-based research center managing ongoing COVID-19 testing for more than 100 colleges and universities, including WPI, notified us this week that it began using a new, ​slightly more sensitive ​and more scalable ​testing process on Jan. 25, 2021. ​Because of this change, the Broad Institute, in consultation with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, decided to update the standards by which positive test results are interpreted. This has impacted a small number of WPI’s previous positive test results, which are now listed as “inconclusive.” Going forward, anyone in the WPI community who receives an inconclusive test result will be contacted by our Health Team to be scheduled for a follow-up test.
