Due to COVID-19-related changes in D-Term schedules and library staffing:
From March 16-20 we will be open 9am to 4pm
The Gordon Library building will be closed beginning at 4 pm March 20, but most services will be continued online.
Future changes to library hours and operations will be announced on the Library’s home page and on the Library hours page as the situation evolves.
Although the library building will only be open from 9-4, library staff will be available remotely by phone, SMS/chat, Zoom or Skype, to assist faculty and students between approximately 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday.
WPI’s Archives and Special Collections will be open by appointment only until further notice.
Services: Many library services and information resources are available from off campus. We are exploring ways we can modify some library services (including interlibrary loan) to serve our WPI community better during this period. If you have any needs that we have not anticipated, please let us know, and we will make every effort to assist you.
Support for online instruction: The library is committed to supporting faculty as you transition your classes online. We can offer recorded or online library instruction, help you find online resources to support your teaching, and more. Please let us know if you have questions or suggestions about support for faculty.
Borrowing and returning books and other library materials: We will adjust due dates for any borrowed materials to accommodate your unplanned absence from campus. If you receive notices for materials that you cannot return, please let us know and we will work with you to accommodate your circumstances.
Using Library meeting spaces: Tech Suites will not be available for meetings during this period in order to better align with CDC guidance on social distancing. The Gordon Conference Room is still available for scheduled meetings during library open hours. All library meeting and office spaces are being frequently and thoroughly cleaned by partners in Campus Facilities.
