Residential Services Thanks the WPI Community
Department(s):
COVID-19 ResourcesAs we move into the month of September, the Residential Services Team would like to offer a huge thank you to the WPI Community. To allow for social distancing of more than 1,900 residential students, this year’s residence hall move-in process was carefully timed and spread out, and was the longest it has ever been: it took 8 days for more than 12 hours each day. The individual attention each student received was very much appreciated.
Move-in would not have been possible without the support of so many from around the campus. Campus Police, Facilities, Dining Services, the Health Services & COVID team, Dean of Students Office, and Marketing & Communications, and so many others helped to make the move-in process a successful and smooth experience for our students and their families. There were many long days, and some with wild weather, and we so appreciate the support. The resident advisor staff filled many roles around campus, from parking attendants to greeters, and they were supported wonderfully by so many of our faculty and staff volunteers – more than 30 individuals from various academic departments and student services offices were there, rain or shine, with a smiling face to welcome our students back to campus.
It truly takes a village, and even more so this year. Thank you so much again, we are proud to be members of this wonderful community.
On behalf of the entire Residential Services Team,
