Carly Cidado's goal in the waning seconds capped a wild comeback as Field Hockey rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit to defeated visiting Wellesley 4-3 in the NEWMAC opener for both squads on Saturday afternoon. The comeback - WPI's second straight from a two-goal second half deficit - keeps the Engineers undefeated on the season at 5-0.

Sean McAllen rushed for 160 yards on just 16 carries with three touchdowns and caught three passes for 25 yards and a score as Football went on road and shutout Becker 45-0 in its final non-conference game of the 2018 regular season on Saturday afternoon. In addition to McAllen, the WPI defense was dominant, holding Becker to just four first downs in the game. As a team, the Crimson and Gray outgained the hosts 421-92.

Frank Ciliberto needed an extra 1:38 to deliver the decisive goal to lift Men’s Soccer past Brandeis, 1-0, in overtime Tuesday night in a non-conference match inside Alumni Stadium. It was the sixth overtime period in the past four meetings. The Engineers (5-0) earn their first win against the Judges (2-3) since 2009, and the first at home since 2006. WPI entered the game as the fifth-ranked team in the United Soccer Coaches regional poll while Brandeis was slotted ninth.  Saturday the Engineers tied sixth-ranked Babson 1-1 in the NEWMAC opener for both undefeated teams.

Leah Beauton and Kristen McCrea scored 44 seconds apart early in the first half, and McCrea went on to complete a natural hat-trick, to lead Women’s Soccer past Worcester State, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon inside Alumni Stadium.  Azita Bakhtyari narrowly missed two double-doubles on the day, and Colleen Mullins and Sarah Kwatinetz each tallied 10 kills in the nightcap, as the WPI women's volleyball team split a twinbill with Springfield (3-0) and Salem State (3-1) Saturday afternoon inside Harrington Auditorium.  WPI moves to 8-2 overall.

Michael Brady guided Men's Cross Country to a second-place showing Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Buddy Harris Invitational. The Engineers also won the sub-varsity race that featured four student-athletes in the top-10.  Division II Southern New Hampshire claimed the team crown with 74 points. The Engineers were 13 behind with 87.  Sydney Packard was the runner up to lead Women’s Cross Country to a fourth-place finish Saturday. New England No. 6 Brandeis won the team title with 56 points, followed by Trinity with 105 and Division II Merrimack with 107. The 10th-ranked team in the region collected 127 points while NEWMAC foe Wellesley was fifth (225), and Division I Holy Cross was sixth (250).

Football makes its long awaited home debut Saturday, hosting Springfield at noon on Saturday in a matchup of the two top teams in the NEWMAC last year.  Men’s Soccer is the only team home twice next week, facing Endicott at 7pm Tuesday and MIT at 4:30pm Saturday while Field Hockey entertains Conn College on Wednesday at 5:30pm.  Volleyball has a pair of NEWMAC road matches at Smith on Tuesday and Wellesley on Saturday, Women’s Soccer ventures to Wentworth on Wednesday and Coast Guard on Saturday and Cross Country takes part in the Purple Valley Classic at Williams on Saturday.
