2018 Engineers Week: Diversity and Equity in STEM Education

The STEM Education Center will host this professional development session for educators. The session is open to educators of all types and is free with no pre-registration required. Participants will engage in an active workshop about the inequalities in STEM and what strategies and practices enhance accessibility to STEM subjects for all students.

    STEM for ALL: Increasing Diversity in STEM Education

    In accordance with National Engineers Week the STEM Education Center at WPI hosts a workshop for educators and parents with a special focus on increasing diversity in STEM and engineering.
    Participants will unpack current issues related to diversity, equity, and access to STEM, reflect on tehir classroom practice, and discuss a variety of pedagogies that were found to increase *all* students' motivation and achievement in STEM. Participants will end the workshop by applying the variety of practices to redesign a STEM lesson.
