Author Event with Megan Giddings, Author of The Women Could Fly

Dr. Megan Giddings is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota. Her first novel, Lakewood, was one of New York Magazine's top ten books of 2020, an NPR Best Book of 2020, a Michigan Notable book for 2021, a finalist for two NAACP Image Awards, and was a finalist for an L.A. Times Book Prize in the Ray Bradbury Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Speculative category. Her most recent book is The Women Could Fly

Critical Conversations w/ Kendall Moore

Join us for our latest Critical Conversations forum which will focus on diversity in STEM. Kendall Moore, award-winning documentary filmmaker and a professor at the University of Rhode Island, will be our special guest as she and our faculty panel discuss this topic from multiple perspectives. The WPI community will also be able to participate in a free viewing of Dr. Moore’s film “Can We Talk? Difficult Conversations with Underrepresented People of Color: Sense of Belonging and Obstacles to STEM Fields” prior to the Critical Conversation.
