Research Guidance and Support for Graduate Students

Jess O'Toole
Research & Instruction Librarian
George C. Gordon Library
Worcester Polytechnic Institute

The WPI Library staff works hard to provide comprehensive support to graduate students at all levels of study. I serve as a Research & Instruction Librarian at WPI, and I work with students throughout the research process. In this talk, I will give an overview of the library's resources and services and how they can best serve you in your graduate career and beyond. I will address common research problems including search strategies, potential access issues, organizing your research and sources, and using information ethically.

Jess O'Toole is a Research & Instruction Librarian focused on graduate outreach at WPI. Prior to her position here, she worked at the U.S. Department of Defense as a Research Specialist, working on short- and long-term defense projects with scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs. She holds a BA in History and an MS in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University, with a certificate in Information Policy from Virginia Tech.
