Class of '94
Serial entrepreneur, Investor, TechStars mentor
Bob advises and invests in early stage startups, built upon his personal experiences being part of great founding teams that created new markets and successful, global businesses.
In 2004, he co-founded Brightcove (NASDAQ:BCOV), a leading provider of online video services that are used by thousands of customers across the world to publish and operate media experiences across PCs, smartphones, tablets and connected TVs. Previously, he was a founding member of the product team at ATG, an industry leading online commerce platform. ATG went public in 1999 and was acquired by Oracle in 2011. In both roles he provided technical and product leadership for the company’s vision, strategy and design. What's important in his life? Bob loves being outdoors with the wind in his face (hiking, biking, sailing, etc). He enjoys ocean swimming in the brisk waters of New England. Eating good food, with good friends - resulting in a love affair with local farmers and producers. He appreciates and admire the work of all artists, with an especially fondness for emerging artists. He has a good sense of design and love many forms of music, but he is not a maker himself. He has come to terms realizing he is not a hacker. But he still loves technology and appreciate the art of good code. He hopes to help others find their own success.
