C-V2X : Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything
V2X will be a key technology for vehicles to communicate with each other and everything around them - enabling safer, more autonomous vehicles of the future. As an interactive communication sensor, V2X complements the capabilities of other ADAS sensors. With improved range, reliability and cost efficiency, C-V2X is gaining momentum and ecosystem support for enhanced safety services and brings new capabilities for autonomous driving with its forward compatible evolution to 5G NR C-V2X. In this talk, we will introduce GPP R14/R15 based C-V2X technology and also provide insights into the upcoming R16 NR V2X.
Abhijit Navalekar is a Senior Staff Engineer at Qualcomm. He received his B.E ('02) from University of Mumbai, MS ('05) and PhD ('09) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA. He worked at several startups before joining Qualcomm in 2012 where he currently works on commercialization/prototyping of 4G/5G technologies on Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipsets. He has worked on multiple wireless/wireline technologies including DOCSIS, DAB, ATSC, CDMA2K, LTE and NR5G. He is the author of several patents filed/issued and has won multiple of awards at Qualcomm. His research interests include mmWave communications, IOT and C-V2X.
