Got old computers in your attic and junk TVs in your garage? Clean them out! Bring them to WPI’s 8th Annual E-Waste Drive!
The Student Green Team and the Office of Sustainability will hold an Electronics Recycling Drive on Monday, April 8, from 10 am – 1 pm on the Quad. This is a great opportunity to get rid of your unwanted or broken electronics in a manner that will be good to the environment.
Bring your computers, TVs, cellphones, lamps, and toaster ovens – anything with an electrical cord - to the Quad between the Bartlett Center and Foisie Innovation Studio. If you are driving, please follow the signage to enter the Quad via West Street and Beech Tree Circle. Green Team members and METech workers will be available to help you unload.
Please note that refrigerators, large appliances, batteries and lightbulbs will NOT be accepted.
WPI is continuing its partnership with METech, a certified e-Stewards and R2 Responsible Recycling vendor, so we know our electronics will be recycled appropriately, using environmentally sound practices.
Concerned about your data? METech evaluates the equipment for reuse. If it passes, they wipe the drives to the U.S. Department of Defense standard. If the drive fails or the equipment does not qualify, the drives are shredded.
The Student Green Team will have a tip jar if you would like to offer them a tip for unloading your vehicle. Proceeds will support Green Team sustainability activities.
