Join us for an interactive presentation on entrepreneurship. Are you wondering how to get your ideas off the ground or how to take your business to the next level? The Women of WPI are excited to host two experts in the field to help you with your business plan.
Susan Loconto Penta '86 is founding member of WPI's Women’s Impact Network, founding member for WPI’s Collaborative for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and has served on the Management Executive Council for WPI’s Business School and the Technology Advisors Network. She is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at MIDIOR, and an executive professor at Northeastern University. Susan is a frequent speaker on the topics of innovation, entrepreneurship and product organizations, and has recently been appointed Chair for the Women’s Network Advisory Board for The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.
Rosanna Garcia, PhD is WPI’s Beswick Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the Business School. An Academic, inventor, and entrepreneur with years of practical experience mentoring numerous student entrepreneurs, Dr. Garcia brings her love of mentoring students into her research. With a focus on under-represented populations in entrepreneurship, she studies how society and educational institutions can foster a sense of curiosity for minority students to encourage ideation and business creation. In addition to working with students, Rosanna mentors community members of under-represented populations as they launch their own businesses. Her experience co-founding a legal-tech company and past participation in a legal-tech accelerator provides her with insights on the challenges of entrepreneurship and how rewarding it is to start a business!
This program is open to all women of the WPI community; all who identify as women; and all who advocate for women.
