Global Initiatives Listening Session

Thursday, January 31, 2019
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Please join us for a Listening Session as part of the strategic planning process for the Global Interdisciplinary Initiative.   This process is intended to be bottom-up and faculty-driven so we are hosting Listening Sessions to gather input from all stakeholders.

A key question we want to answer is what kinds of global initiatives, in basic and applied research, education, and outreach, do we want to pursue in the coming years?  The goal of the process is to develop a strategic plan and programming that we can starting linking to the budgetary process.  We will have discussion stations, easels, sticky notes and provocative questions designed to get your feedback.

Rob Krueger will be coordinating this process with the assistance of the Global Steering Committee:  Kris Wobbe (UG), Steve Taylor (FSB), Kent Rissmiller (IGSD), Kris Boudreau (HUA), Emily Douglass (SSPS), Steve McCauley (GLab), Kathy Chen (STEM Education), Paul Mathisen (CEE), Terri Camesano (GS), Antje Harnisch (AVPR), and Bogdan Vernescu (VPR).

This is the first in a series of activities, both information gathering and purely social, that we will have over the coming months.  For this to be successful, we need everyone's participation!  We look forward to developing signature WPI Global Initiatives that will engage and support our diverse interests.

Snacks and refreshments will be served.
