The Global School Event Series 2021-2022 is a public forum highlighting the significant role of The Global School at WPI in addressing global grand challenges. From climate adaptation to new technologies for development, from re-thinking water and energy systems to poetry and place-making, our student projects, faculty research, and community collaborations bring the innovative WPI ethos around the world.

8:10-8:30 AM Keynote: Women's Empowerment in Rural Morocco

Mina Lalaoui Kamal is a 2019 graduate of the Fulbright Humphrey Fellowship Program at the University of California Davis, specializing in Climate Change, Environmental Policy, and Natural Resources. She is also an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) 2016 alumna on Climate Change. She won the AEIF 2020 (Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund), and she is the project manager in charge of the organization and the implementation of one yearlong AEIF project, “Bolstering Women’s Development in Rural Morocco.”

She graduated from the University Mohammed V, Morocco, with a Higher Studies Diploma of Sciences in Molecular Biology and Plant Genetic engineering. She has a master's degree in Environmental Assessment and Management from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, winning the UK Chevening Scholarship. She earned an Inter-University Diploma in Plant Biotechnology from the University of Paris XI, France. She is certified on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from the US Institute of International Education; on Project Management, Women’s Leadership and Strategic Planning from the American Management Association.  To continue reading Mina's full bio, click here
