Title: Discrete Geometry – The Greatest Hits CD
ABSTRACT: In the last 5-10, or 25 years, there have been some breakthroughs in discrete geometry and I thought it would be nice to survey these recent results. Without digging into details of any one topic, I intend to discuss exciting news related to sphere packings, kissing numbers, equiangular lines, spherical 2-distance sets, the Erdos distinct distances problem and the chromatic number of the plane. This talk should be accessible to students and might be interesting to anyone in Mathematical Sciences.
