Abstract: Uncertainty relations are a useful tool to prove the security of quantum cryptographic protocols. Motivated by the RRDPS (Round-Robin Differential Phase Shift) encoding we consider the study of uncertainty relations for a single measurement. We obtain a first general uncertainty bound for the Renyi entropy, which turns out to be sharp for a family of POVMs (Positive Operator Valued Measures). This work was part of my master's thesis under the supervision of Serge Fehr (CWI).
