Yan Wang is William Smith Foundation Dean’s Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering and Associate Director of Center for Resource Recovery and Recycling (CR3) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). His research is in the field of fundamental electrochemistry and electrochemistry-based technologies including electrolysis, lithium ion batteries, solid state batteries, fuel cells, battery recycling, material recovery and sustainability. He co-founded Battery Resourcers Inc in 2015 to commercialize the lithium ion battery recycling technology developed in his lab. In 2016, he co-founded AM Batteries LLC to commercialize battery electrode manufacturing technology developed in his lab.
