Native American Heritage Month Edit-a-thon

Thursday, November 15, 2018
11:00 am to 1:00 pm
George C. Gordon Library
United States
Floor/Room #:
Shuster Lab for Digital Scholarship (First Floor)

Only 0.15% of all Wikipedia articles are about the indigenous peoples of North America. For Native American Heritage Month, the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Gordon Library are sponsoring an Edit-a-thon to improve representation of indigenous history and culture on Wikipedia.

All are welcome to attend, including beginners to Wikipedia editing! We'll have experienced editors on hand to answer questions and get you started. You are also welcome to drop by for any amount of time that you have available during the edit-a-thon--even in fifteen minutes, you can help make a difference!

This edit-a-thon is the first in a new monthly event series, WPI Digital Volunteers, which will bring together members of the WPI community to contribute to crowdsourced projects that have a global impact. Future events may include transcribe-a-thons, citizen science projects, map-a-thons, and more Wikipedia edit-a-thons.

Please note that no food or drink are permitted in the Shuster Lab.
