In this webinar, Dr. Leslie D. Gonzales will address three key objectives. First, Dr. Gonzales will summarize recent and still emerging findings related to COVID-19's impact on the academic profession, defined to include non-tenure stream and tenure-stream faculty, and with special attention to impacts on Women of Color. After briefly highlighting these findings, Gonzales will provide guidance as to how academics, situated in different appointment types and in different institution types, might account for the impact that COVID has had on their work activities. Finally, Gonzales will encourage senior faculty and academic leaders to consider how they can lever formal and informal power to ensure that the evaluative process evolves to account for the disparities in workload and impacts wrought and exacerbated by COVID-19. The webinar will include reflective writing prompts amongst other hands-on activities. Participants are encouraged to have access to writing instruments and a recent CV.
