Clark University’s Goddard Library, and the Friends of the Robert Goddard Library will sponsor a celebration on March 13 of the library’s 50th anniversary and the anniversary of the 1969 Apollo moon landing.

The event, at 7 p.m. in Clark’s Tilton Hall, will feature Chris Bourg, Massachusetts Institute of Technology libraries director, and WPI President Laurie Leshin, an award-winning NASA space scientist, as keynote speakers.

Goddard, the inventor of modern rocketry, was a graduate of WPI and Clark University and taught at both. He was born in Worcester and launched the first liquid-fueled rocket in 1926 in Auburn.
