Abstract: Navigation is a critical task in building intelligent agents. Navigation tasks can be expressed in many forms, for example, point goal tasks involve navigating to specific coordinates and semantic navigation involves finding the path to a specific scene or object. In the corresponding work we explore to navigate an indoors environment using different learning-based techniques. The idea has been to leverage the benefits of learning to explore the structural regularities of the environment and prepare agents to navigate in unseen environments as opposed to classical navigation pipelines which often rely on special sensor observations (like Lidar and GPS). and generally, a complete information about the environment. The work presents various sets of experiments performed in leveraging learning-based techniques for indoor navigation.
