Abstract: The technology surrounding the Autonomous Ground Vehicles (AGVs) is developing at a remarkable pace with various research groups as well as engineering companies finding more and more applications of  AGVs for everyday activities. However, when it comes to the navigation problem of AGVs, it's not a trivial task, even within structured indoor environments. It involves many complex yet interesting problems and domains of robotics e.g. sensor integration, mapping, localization, path planning, and to name a few. As a part of my RBE Practicum, this semester, I got the opportunity to work on Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM) and Sensor Fusion stack of Autonomous Robot Navigation pipeline. I mainly worked on different Lidar-based SLAM algorithms and fusing data from a stereo camera & Lidar using Robot Operating System (ROS).
