Project Title: Lego Sorter

Project Abstract:

The goal of this project is to combine mechanical components, computer vision, and artificial intelligence to create a modular sorting device with the ability to classify and sort objects by color, size, and shape. The system is broken down into three modules: the serializer, the identifier, and the sorter. The serializer is responsible for singling out parts from a large batch, and then feeding out the serialized parts to the identifier. With the parts separated, the identifier uses two cameras to categorize the parts by color and type. Then the parts are passed to the sorter, where they are organized based on the metric determined by the user.
