"Should We Venerate the Constitution? What the Founding Generation Thought."
Daniel Klinghard, Holy Cross
2018 Constitution Day Lecture
Daniel Klinghard teaches courses on American politics at the College of the Holy Cross, where he also directs the J.D. Power Center for Liberal Arts in the World. He has written or edited several books including Thomas Jefferson and the Science of Republican Government: A Political Biography of Notes on the State of Virginia.
WPI annual Constitution Day lecture considers the question of how we should view the United States Constitution. Is it sacred scripture? or just the owner’s manual? Surprisingly, the Revolutionary leaders that wrote and ratified the document disagreed among themselves.
