About the Meetup

The Worcester Ethereum Enthusiasts Meetup is a regular Blockchain-focused Meetup in the heart of central Massachusetts, which hosts a range of topics from cryptocurrencies, crypto-economics, business use-cases and more. Featured Speaker and Meetup leader James Moreau will present an introductory “crash course” in Blockchain as it is applied in Ethereum. And, he will open the conversation for a discussion more broadly about cryptocurrencies and crypto-economics.

About James Moreau - Consumer Support Strategy Lead - ConsenSys and MetaMask

James is the lead consumer product support strategist at ConsenSys. During his time at ConsenSys, James built and grew a support organization for the web3 browser plugin MetaMask, the company's most-used product, from 40,000 users to 1.1 million over the course of his first year. Previously in a career oriented towards digital advertising and marketing, James got bit by the Blockchain “bug” in 2014 while traveling overseas and has since dedicated his career to spreading the adoption of cryptocurrency awareness and adoption throughout the world.

About Ethereum & ConsenSys

Ethereum is an open-source, public, Blockchain-based distributed computing platform and operating system featuring smart contract (scripting) functionality.  ConsenSys, is the world's largest Ethereum venture studio.  Joseph Lubin founded ConsenSys in early 2015 as a software foundry to develop decentralized software services and applications that operate on the Ethereum Blockchain.  He was  previously Chief Operating Officer of Ethereum Switzerland GmbH (EthSuisse), and he was also involved in the creation of the Ethereum Foundation, a Toronto-based non-profit organization, a "nonpartisan industry body, made up of [a cross-section of] industry players [organized to] make sure the Ethereum infrastructure works fairly and independently ... like ICANN for the Internet.”   As of December 2017, ConsenSys has more than 470 employees, and consists of 37 spokes. ConsenSys is developing a variety of applications, which operate on Ethereum, the global distributed computing platform.

Walk-ins are welcome, however we would like to ensure there is enough seating.  So, if possible, please register for the Meetup below.
