WPI Founders Day

Monday, November 12, 2018
11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Student Alumni Society (SAS) will be hosting Founders Day on Monday, November 12. The event will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the fountain. This year, we will be celebrating Seth Sweetser. He was the pastor for John Boynton and Ichabod Washburn and when they approached him with their ideas of a school, Sweetser melded them together to form the idea of theory and practice, which we still hold to this day.

Schedule of the day:

11 a.m.-2 p.m. - The Farm at SummitWynds will be bringing goats to campus.

Noon - A reading from The Two Towers will be done by Pat Guida.

11 a.m.-2 p.m. or until it is gone - Cake celebrating Founders Day at WPI will be served to members of the WPI community.

3 p.m. – The annual Freshmen / Sophomore Rope Pull will take place on the lower lawn of Higgins House. (This tradition is typically held during Homecoming, but was rescheduled due to weather.)

7 p.m. – Are You Smarter Than a Founder? takes place in Stratton Hall 304.

Please note that t-shirts will be given out throughout the duration of the event, but are for current students only.

We hope that you will join us in celebrating Founders Day!
