Professor deWinter's practical work focuses on experience design in game creation and production management, recently in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Theoretically, her research looks at Japanese and Chinese game industry policies and practices. She also studies inclusivity in game and media development, from diversifying the workforce to diversity in representation.
