SUMMARY:Business Information Visualization \& Biometrics Lecture
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBusiness Information Visual
 ization \& Biometrics Lecture\nAbstract\nBusiness Intelligence \& Analytic
s dashboards, data visualizations, and visual analysis systems are cogniti
ve tools that heavily rely on our understanding of subconscious-level proc
essing, human perception, and cognitive processes overall. These cognitive
tools are the focal point of the data visualization subfield called Busin
ess Information Visualization (BIV). While the BIV field has seen calls fo
r an increased need to deploy physiological sensing techniques and the use
of biometric data, these calls remain an opportunity. Dr. Bačić will pres
ent his research as an answer to this opportunity and discuss his past and
current research at the intersection of Business Information Visualizatio
 n and biometrics.\n\n\nWednesday\n April 19, 11 am to 12pm\nUXDM Lab (WB
 33) (limited seating) / Zoom https://wpi.zoom.us/j/92313769266\n\n\n\n
\n \n\n\n\nDinko Bačićis an Assistant Professor of Information Syst
ems and the founder of the UX \& Biometrics lab in the Quinlan School of B
usiness at Loyola University Chicago. He holds a DBA degree in Information
Systems from Cleveland State University. His research interests include i
nformation visualization, human-computer interaction, biometrics, cognitio
n, neuroIS, business intelligence \& analytics, and pedagogy. He has paper
s published in premier journals such as Decision Support Systems, Communic
ations of the Association for Information Systems, AIS Transactions on Hum
an-Computer Interaction, Springer Computer Science Lecture Notes, and Leon
ardo, among others. He has over fifteen years of corporate and consulting
experience in business intelligence, finance, project management, and huma
 n resources.\n\n\n\n\n
