Giving Societies

Members of the WPI Giving Societies make a profound impact on the university. These donors help WPI realize the philanthropic promise of its alumni and friends and assist the university in achieving its ambitious goals. They also lead the way in strengthening WPI’s distinctive, forward-looking education that prepares outstanding students for leadership in many fields of endeavor and fulfillment in all walks of life.

WPI recognizes lifetime, annual, and planned giving through our societies:

Lifetime Giving Societies

The WPI Lifetime Giving Societies recognize Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s most generous benefactors whose desire to share in the continuing development of the university inspires them to contribute at a level of support that equals or exceeds the $100,000 founding gift of John Boynton.

Annual Giving Society

The President’s Circle recognizes alumni, parents, and friends who choose to support WPI at a leadership level of $2,000 or more within a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). President’s Circle members provide the critical resources necessary each year to advance the mission of WPI.

Planned Giving Society

Named in honor of George I. Alden, the university’s first professor of mechanical engineering and one of WPI’s greatest benefactors, the Alden Society was established to recognize all deferred gifts and bequest intentions to the university. Planned gifts provide extraordinary opportunities to ensure that resources will be available to support the mission of WPI far into the future.
