Common Data Set

The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers [e.g. College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report]. The CDS develops clear, standard data items and definitions for use across institutions.  The CDS includes enrollment breakdowns, graduation and retention rates, admissions data, student financial aid and faculty characteristics. Blank versions of the CDS are available at the Common Data Set Initiative
