About Us

The mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs is to foster a campus community that respects and celebrates diversity in all its dimensions, including but not limited to, differences of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic status, and physical ability.  We serve and support all members of our community, with additional outreach to students from underrepresented backgrounds.  Our office strives to promote multicultural awareness, social justice, and equity through a wide variety of initiatives, programs, and support services.

Moreover, the Office of Multicultural Affairs is committed to helping underrepresented groups pursue study and a career in the STEM fields.  In the United States and abroad, business and university leaders are seeking to increase workforce diversity because heterogeneity in race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic background, and physical ability promote innovation.  Diverse teams bring multiple perspectives to problem solving and make strategic decisions that more fully reflect client demographics.  Our office strives to increase diversity in the STEM fields to enhance our nation’s creativity and competitiveness in the global economy.
