Massachusetts law prohibits the practice of hazing by a student organization. WPI, in an effort to educate the entire student population about hazing, requires each student to read and sign the Hazing Policy as part of the academic registration process twice a year.
WPI is committed to emphasizing that all pledge activities be made constructive, educational and safe for individuals and for student organizations. Therefore, in support of the University’s commitment to the mental, emotional and physical well-being of every student, it is the policy of WPI and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that hazing in any form is prohibited, and its practices in any fashion be condemned.
