Hamed Farmahini Farahani graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts with a Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering in 2013. As a Master's student he investigated the methods of oil spill clean-up in cold regions. He joined the Ph.D. program of Fire Protection Engineering department in 2014. His research goal is to study different physics of liquid fuel burning (pool fires) in an icy medium to improve our knowledge on the consequences from an oil spill in .
