Technical Sergeant Cala M. Grier, originally from Richlands, North Carolina, entered the USAF after graduating from Basic Military Training in 2000 at Lackland AFB, TX.
From Nov 2000 – May 2004, TSgt Grier was assigned to the 37th Training Support Squadron, at Lackland AFB TX, where she worked as the Commander Support Staff and Training Manager for Military Training Instructor/Military Training Leader Instructors and students.
In Jun 04, TSgt Grier was assigned to 324th Intelligence Squadron, Commander Support Staff at Kunia Station, HI. She supported 2500 unit members assigned to 5 PASCODES, 4 countries across PACAF.
In Jun 07, TSgt Grier was assigned to the 43rd Security Forces Squadron, Commanders Support Staff, at Pope AAF, NC. She oversaw personnel support to 85 unit personnel during high tempo deployment.
In Dec 07, TSgt Grier moved to 43rd Force Support Squadron after the consolidation of the Commander Support Staff. During her time in the FSS she worked Customer Support, Force Management, Career Development and IPR, where she supported over 3000 unit members and 15 GSU’s over 10 states in AMC.
In Jan 15, TSgt Grier was assigned to Jeanne M. Holm Center at Maxwell AFB, AL. She supported the Support Director and Lt General with various Personnel assignments/taskers ranging from CSS to Unit Deployment Support for GSU’s across 145 Detachments.
In Jul 17, TSgt Grier moved to HQ AFROTC, Cadet Actions at Maxwell AFB, AL. She supported 10,000 cadets, cadre and faculty members from 145 Detachments across the US. She processed more than 1,000 wings tickets, CPARS and inprocessing actions a year.
Currently, TSgt Grier is the NCOIC, for Detachment 340 Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps. In this capacity, Sergeant Grier manages personnel records, leave web, duty status, and MILPDS actions for five active duty cadre. She updates cadet pay, initiates security clearances, manages the unit leave program, duty status program, and schedules the Test of Basic Aviation Skills (TBAS) and Air Force Officer Qualifying Tests (AFOQT). This organization includes 5 cadre members and over 30 cadets.
