CPT Daniel Allen joined the Bay State Battalion in the summer of 2016. CPT Allen’s military career began when he enlisted in the Army as a Firefighter. He attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and then graduated from the Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy on the Commandant’s list. CPT Allen was accepted to the Army’s Officer Candidate School where he graduated on the Commandant’s list and was given a commission into the Infantry. CPT Allen deployed from Germany with the 172nd Infantry Brigade as a Rifle Infantry Platoon Leader in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. CPT Allen was selected to return to Officer Candidate School and was a Cadre member until he went to the Psychological Operations Assessment and Selection. After being selected, CPT Allen attended the Psychological Operations Qualification Course at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and graduated on the Commandant’s list. Upon graduating, CPT Allen deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. CPT Allen then deployed to North West Africa to train, advise, and assist in a multinational counterterrorism exercise. His military education includes many schools including Airborne and Ranger School.
