What do you do at the CDC?

I am currently learning about the many ways in which a Career Counselor can work with students to provide an opportunity to gain better insight on their path through, and after, WPI. I look forward to providing these services as my knowledge and understanding grow.

Background

I joined the Career Development Center in October 2016, after having served six years as the Administrator of Theatre Technology and an Instructor of Theatre for WPI’s Department of Humanities and Arts. My background is in arts management and business, with a passion for finding ways to explore the intersection of skill, passion, and interest.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love playing games and I am a board and card game geek. I especially enjoy games with unique gameplay. I’m also always interested in finding ways to incorporate these games into the educational experience.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the Higgins House Garden. I always feel like I’ve traveled back in time or to a fantasy realm when I walk through.

Advice for Students

Get to know yourself. Your needs, interests, and desires are part of the equation when considering the path ahead.

Do I have to move my belongings out of my residence hall room? (Added 10/16/20)

Students who choose to leave campus for Thanksgiving and complete B-Term remotely must consolidate their belongings in their residence hall, on their bed. We ask that students do this in case the university has to close before C-Term begins. Students must return their key to Residential Services.

If I complete B Term remotely, will I be reimbursed for two weeks’ housing and dining? (Added 10/16/20)

No, the university remains open and operating, including dining and housing locations. As a result, WPI is not issuing refunds for students who choose to leave campus and complete B-Term remotely. The housing and dining contracts are binding for the full term.

What about my labs for the end of B-Term—how will I finish if I don’t have access to campus? (Added 10/16/20)

Students should speak to their faculty about specific academic activities for B-Term. Such discussions should be factored in to the student’s decisions about Thanksgiving.

I’m working on an IQP or MQP in B-Term: how can I finish if I go home? What about other team members? (Added 10/16/20)

Students should work with their faculty advisors and team members about specific needs and activities. Such discussions should be factored in to the student’s decisions about Thanksgiving.
