My research interests encompass Big Data, Machine Learning, Dimensionality Reduction, and Network Analysis. I am fascinated with developing dimensionality reduction algorithms for high-dimensional and big data. I enjoy recovering partially observed or corrupted social, sensor, and neural networks and analyzing characteristics of them. I learn hidden low-dimensionality of the U.S. financial system to forecast market movements. I am an enthusiastic educator of Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science related courses for undergraduates and graduates. I am excited to get involved as a mentor for students by directing undergraduate and graduate research projects.
I graduated with a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Clarkson University, USA on May 07, 2016. I was awarded an MS in Applied Statistics on August 08, 2011 and a BS (with honor) in Mathematics on July 15, 2007 from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I worked three years as a Faculty Lecturer in the Department of Science and Technology at Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka; and one year as a Faculty Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
