Martha has been working with teachers on the integration of engineering in K-12 classrooms since 1995. In 2003 she joined WPI as the Director of K-12 Outreach, and then transitioned to become the Executive Director of the STEM Education Center in 2011. In 2017 she stepped down from this position to become the Director of Strategic Growth: PLTW, a position within the STEM Education Center.
She received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (’82) from the University of New Hampshire. Her advanced degrees, M.S. (’87) and Ph.D. (’97) are both in Mechanical Engineering from WPI. In addition to her academic work, she worked as a Thermal Engineer for Data General for three years (’88-’91.)
