I work in the field of applied mathematics studying biological applications. At WPI I am developing an hybrid cellular automaton model for the growth of tissue engineered articular cartilage. My PhD work focused on the study of ocular blood circulation and aqueous humor flow in relation to ocular diseases, with a particular interest in glaucoma, a degenerative ocular disease which is the second leading cause of blindness all over the world. I previously received my BS and MS in mathematical engineering at Politecnico di Milano; both my BS and MS thesis focused on turbulence.
