Location and Culture

Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, is a modern, industrialized metropolitan area with rich cultural heritage and easy access to surrounding major cities. Through their MQP experience, students can practice their technical skills, apply their innovative ideas, develop their interpersonal abilities, and cultivate their entrepreneurial spirit in a global and innovative world. Average temperatures in Beijing in June range from 66°F to 86°F.

Housing and Meals

Students will live either in double-occupancy student residences or the university hotel. Accommodation type and location are subject to change without notice and will be confirmed the term prior to departure.

Chinese cuisine varies greatly by region, and staple foods include rice, noodles, vegetables, sauces, and seasonings; dairy is rarely, if ever, used. Students should inform their advisor of any health concerns, dietary restrictions, or allergies in advance of participation in this program.
