Project Opportunities:
Spanning 12 different time zones between Europe and Asia, Russia is the largest country in the world in terms of land mass, natural resources and opportunities for economic and technological growth. The months of March and April in Moscow offer great opportunities for WPI students to explore the city and the countryside, sample Russian achievements in space exploration, see the museums and sites of the Kremlin, Vladimir and Suzdal, and marvel at the ingenuous designs of bridges and fountains in Saint Petersburg. The Moscow Project Center is based on the campus of Financial University that provides many opportunities for WPI students to participate in Russian culture through interaction with local students, to learn the Russian language and experience Russian culture through visits to the circus, the theater, museums and religious sites.  Students have been completing projects in Moscow since 2013.

NOTE: Successful applicants will be required to obtain a visa and prospective applicants should note that Russia requires proof of a recent HIV test in order to obtain a visa.

Past Moscow students have:

•Repurposed the design for a coffee grinder, the flagship product of Soviet-era company Mikromashina

•Evaluated ramifications of climate change in the Arctic for Russian energy companies with Ernst & Young

•Identified best available technologies and practices to increase energy efficiency for the Moscow Metro
