Drop-ins

Come meet with a CDC Peer Advisor Monday- Friday 12-4pm. Drop-ins give you the opportunity to ask quick questions, get your resume or cover letter critiqued, talk about a job offer, learn about Handshake, and more. Drop-ins don’t require an appointment; instead, you’ll be seen on a first come, first-served basis.

  • In person and virtual appointments: You can schedule appointments to meet one on one with a CDC staff member through your Handshake account. Appointments can be held either in person or virtual through the Handshake platform. If you need help or have any questions, stop by the CDC office or call us at 508-831-5260.

Appointment Topics Include: Alumni Career Advising, Application Materials, Discovering Majors & Careers, Graduate School, Internship/Co-op/Job Search, Job Offers, Networking & Career Fairs, and Interview Prep.
 

  • In person and virtual events:  There are always programs and employer events happening both in person and virtually.  Follow this link to go to our events page in Handshake and search for events. Information on how to access/attend the sessions will be included in the event. Keep checking back as new events become available.

Academic Year: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Summer: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Appointments can be scheduled through Handshake and are currently available via Zoom.

Request an Event

Workshops with CDC Participation

Registered student organizations can request that the CDC conduct a workshop for them on the following topics:

  • Resume feedback session – A peer advisor will give quick pointers about what to look for when critiquing a resume then students will swap resumes and review a peers resume giving feedback and advice.
  • Interviewing Practice – A peer advisor will give a quick presentation on interviewing skills and best practices and will then lead students through an activity of practicing interview questions and giving feedback with a peer
  • Job search – A peer advisor will present on job search strategies and using Handshake
  • Career Fair / Networking – A peer advisor will present on how to work a career fair / networking strategies

Please provide at least 10 business days’ notice and preference will be given to groups who collaborate. To make a request, please sign up using this form. A member of the CDC will contact you within 2 business days with more information and provide a status update on your request.

Request CDC Grants to Fund a Career-Related Event for your Student Organization

The CDC offers grants to help student organizations fund programs and events that involve educational and networking opportunities and career and professional development. Eligibility for the grant requires that any and all students will be welcome to attend the workshop, and that the CDC must be listed as a sponsor in all marketing materials.
