Leadership Development Committee

Consisting of WPI students and staff, the Leadership Development Committee works to develop and support leadership opportunities for students. Members will learn about leadership theory and strategic planning used in developing leadership curriculum. Email the Student Activities Office to learn more.

Leadership Lecture Series

The Leadership Lecture Series features a variety of speakers to expose WPI students—both undergraduates and graduates—to a wide range of topics associated with leadership, diversity, social justice, and wellness. Previous lecture topics have included “Love Your Body Campaign” and “End of Racism.”  Log into TechSync to register or learn about future lecture topics.

Leadership Luncheon Series

This lecture series provides WPI students—both undergraduates and graduates—with the opportunity to learn from and network with individuals who put leadership theories into practice every day. The luncheon is offered about once per term, and previous lecture topics have included “Creative Leadership” and “Building a Great Year.” Log into TechSync to register or learn about future lecture topics.

Leading Edge Series

The Leading Edge Series is a three part, comprehensive leadership program designed to provide WPI students with an opportunity to not only explore their leadership potential, but also gain practical skills and valuable knowledge that will impact their daily lives. The Emerging Leader offered in B term and The Advanced Leader in D term, are separate seven week opportunities that explore different areas of leadership from both a personal and group framework. Those who complete six of the seven workshops in each series received a leadership certificate. The third tier, The Legacy Leader, is an opportunity for the development of leadership skills and facilitation all year long through various opportunities and programs. For more information email wpileadership@wpi.edu.

Out of the Box Series

This unique leadership series takes place off-campus and provides students—both undergraduates and graduates—with an array of opportunities like rock climbing, white water rafting, and ropes courses to engage in challenges and conversations about leadership. Log into TechSync to register or learn about future events.

The Leaders Program provided me the opportunity to apply newly learned and developed leadership skills in a hands-on environment.
