Mass Academy welcomes new director

Robert A. Salvatelli is the new director of the Massachusetts Academy of Mathematics and Science at Worcester. He earned his bachelor's degree in elementary education at the University of Bridgeport and his master's degree in administration at Fitchburg State College. He comes to the academy after 26 years as principal of the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School in his hometown of Leominster, Mass. He succeeds James E. Hamos, who is now a senior associate in academic affairs in the office of University of Massachusetts President William M. Bulger.
