Humanities/Arts
The Sufficiency Requirement
To demonstrate a grasp of how creativity is exercised and judged in the humanities and/or arts, students write (or compose, perform, act in or direct, as the case may be) an independent study project for three credit hours building upon five previous courses in a thematic area of interest. The students must select the courses, identify the theme, and persuade a member of the Humanities and Arts department to advise their capstone project by justifying its cohesiveness.
Project Reviews
This report examines the uses and limits of assessment related to the overall purposes of undergraduate education, and distinguishes between "formative" and "summative" assessments.
