WPI School of Business Ranks in Top 5 for Women in Princeton Review's 2011 'Best 300 Business Schools'

The university scores big in "greatest opportunity for women" and in "best administered" program categories.

University Scores Big in 'Greatest Opportunity for Women' and in 'Best Administered' Categories

Worcester Polytechnic Institute is one of the top five universities in the nation that provide the greatest opportunity for women studying business and management, according to the latest business school rankings from The Princeton Review. In addition, the WPI School of Business earned a top-10 ranking for being one of the "best administered" business programs. These accolades come atop WPI's part-time MBA program being ranked number one in the nation by BusinessWeek, and by Entrepreneur.com as a top-10 program with an emphasis on entrepreneurship.

"We are pleased to recommend the WPI School of Business to readers of our book and users of our site as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA," said Robert Franek, Princeton Review senior vice president of publishing. "We chose the 300 business schools in this book based on our high opinion of their academic programs and offerings, as well as our review of institutional data we collect from the schools. We also strongly consider the candid opinions of students, who rate and report on their campus experiences at their schools on our survey for the book."

The Princeton Review’s Best 300 Business Schools includes profiles of business schools with sections on academics, student life, admissions, selectivity, and career placement services.  In the profile on WPI, the editors describe the school as offering cutting-edge classes and providing solid preparation in general management and doing business in a global economy. 

"Offering 'more of a technical leadership program than a traditional MBA,' the School of Business at Worcester Polytechnic Institute unites a broad-based degree in business essentials with highly specialized instruction in technology and technology management to fit the needs of graduate-level biz-savvy technophiles," The Princeton Review editors wrote in WPI's profile, quoting WPI MBA students. "Students appreciate the value of this approach. 'The technology focus is great, considering where the business world is headed,' one MBA candidate observes. Another explains that the program 'works very well in the intersection of business and technology, teaching us how to create and extract maximum value' from that nexus."
