Where there is Innovation, there is Computer Science
As a graduate student in the Computer Science program at WPI you will be among an elite group of top students from around the world who are engaged in high-level research designed to solve real-world problems.
No matter what areas of computer science interest you most, you’ll find a supportive infrastructure and encouraging research environment here. Current departmental research, most of which is funded by grants and other awards, includes network performance and analysis, software engineering, visualization, computer graphics, graph theory, multi-media systems, artificial intelligence, databases, computational complexity, and computer vision. WPI has the faculty, expertise, facilities and funding to support continued progress of these and many other areas of research.
An Interdisciplinary Environment
We believe that interdisciplinary collaboration leads to new knowledge in a broad range of areas, which is why computer science students may also participate in computer applications research work being conducted in many other engineering disciplines including electrical and computer, mechanical, biomedical, civil, and fire protection.
